During the Millionaires "off season" players, coaches, and staff still have the love of football on their minds. It's during that off time when the area's youth football leagues begin to start up. If you look around practice or the football field you'll see not only Millionaire players who coach but the owner of the Millionaires as well. Owner Calvin Williams has been a part of some of the areas youth football leagues for over 10+ years passing on what was once passed on to him at that age.

The Millionaires headquarters is normally used for the stationary office, the teams class, film & study room, and their treatment center. But Calvin decided he wanted to use it for the youth he coaches as well. On the Saturday before Jamboree Calvin took the teams "skill players" to the classroom where they went over plays and learned a few more before stepping onto the field. One of the young athletes also got "treatment" for a bruised heel he had suffered during practice.

During the class "break" the players were treated to homemade strawberry pancakes and a chance to talk with each other about the things they were learning.

"The youth is our future and the football knowledge they learn now can last them a lifetime. High school, college, and possibly even the NFL" said owner Calvin Williams.

The Sarasota Millionaires season came to an end in a 52-34 loss to the Florida Stingrays in the United Football Federation South Conference Championship game Saturday night in Ft. Myers, FL. Six touchdown passes by quarterback Lonnie Young vaulted the Stingrays into the United Cup III championship game to be played on June 1st at Clearwater High School against the Brooksville Ballers.

The Stingrays set the tone early when Lonnie Young jaunted 15 yards for a touchdown less than four minutes into the game wrapping up a 50 scoring yard drive. Leon Hutchins added the two-pointer to give Florida a quick 8-0 lead. The Millionaires first possession ended in a fumble on a lateral pass by Mario Davis that was recovered by the Stingrays at the Sarasota 15 yard line. An early two touchdown deficit was averted when Brandon Johnson intercepted a pass and returned it to the 50 yard line. One play later, running back Mike Ford burst through the line and rumbled 50 yards for the Millionaires first touchdown of the night. The two-pointer was missed making it 8-6.
