The Sarasota Millionaires hosted the SW FL. Panthers this past Saturday at Sarasota High School and came away with the WIN 41 - 14.

The Millionaires will host the Brevard Hurricanes this Saturday March 1st, 5pm, at Sarasota High School 1000 S. School Ave. Sarasota General Admission $7.00

The Sarasota Millionaires hosted the Bradenton Gladiators this past Saturday night at Sarasota High School. Although it was a tough loss for the Millionaires 27-10, the score does not reflect the hard fought game between the two.

The Millionaires will regroup before facing the Duval Vipers Saturday February 15th. Details posted soon.

The Millionaires traveled to Orlando this past Saturday and took on the Orlando Rage. Coming away with a big loss 42-0. The Millionaires must regroup and figure out what went wrong before heading into the next game against the Bradenton Gladiators.

The Sarasota Millionaires came up a little short this past Sunday afternoon January 26 in their home opener losing to the Daytona Beach Wildcats 15-13. The Millionaires struck first when running back Mike Ford broke out on a 63 yard run and quarterback Tarun Weathersby finished the drive with a 8 yard touchdown run. The extra point was made by kicker Evan Potoka giving the Millionaires a 7-0 lead. The Wildcats came clawing back as quarterback Troy Dannehower connected with wide reciever Raynard Gearing on 57 yard touchdown pass. The extra point was missed by the Wildcats making the score 7-6 Millionaires after the first quarter.
The Millionaires defense played a solid game lead by linebackers Marvin Harris and Alan Barnett. "The defense put us in position to come away with the win. The offense just made too many turnovers and made our the defensive unit work extra hard" said defensive coach Thad Starling. The Millionaires defense forced the Wildcats to make their fair share of turnovers as well. They recovered 3 fumbles and had an interception by Willie Phelps. Wildcats all star running back Levi Raines found the end zone on a 7 yard touchdown making the score 12-7 going into halftime.
The Millionaires came out in the second half moving the ball with confidence a mixture of running and passing was in order until Tarun Weatherby fumbled the ball on their own 32 yard line. "Turnovers is what killed us. We have to take care of the football if we want to win in this league" said head coach Ernest Givins. The offense managed to put together drive midway through the third quarter when running back Mike Ford scored on a 5 yard touchdown after a bad snap on the extra point the score was 13-12 at the end of the third quarter. Ford finished the game with 116 yards.
Both defenses put on their hard hats as it became a defensive battle in the fourth quarter. The Millionaires defense was causing problems for the Wildcats as the Wildcats was doing the same to the Millionaires. Late in the fourth quarter the Millionaires had four chances to put the game away. They had the football on their own 12 yardline when their all star running back Mike Ford fumbled the ball with 3:43 left put the game in the hands of the defense. The Wildcats would not go away without a fight. On the final drive the Wildcats converted on two fourth down conversations. They drove to their own 32 yard and with five seconds remaining in the contest they made a 37 yard game winning field goal by kicker Matt McCutcheon making the final score 15-13.

Sarasota Millionaires And Their Continued Community Services

The Sarasota Millionaires football organization are known for their continued community services throughtout their community over the years. The organization has participated in various community services some of which have included passing out Thanksgiving turkey's complete with all the trimmings to elderly recipients in the community, reading books on "Read-A-Book Day" to local elementary and day care children, community clean-ups, annual F-CAT pep rallies at schools throughout Sarasota county, and more!

The Sarasota Millionaires ARE dedicated to providing pride and growth in our community. It's not just about football for the Sarasota Millionaires. We are committed to providing success to our players both on and off the field. The Sarasota Millionaires provide positive mentorship and planned activities for the youths in the City of Sarasota and Sarasota County. Although the team's season runs from September - April our programs continue throughout the year. Our motto is community FIRST and football is second.
