Marvin "Mo" Harris is a huge part of the Sarasota Millionaires defense. Harris will be entering his seventh year as the teams middle linebacker. The Millionaires defense is known around town as the "BLACKOUT" and Harris is the heart and soul of the defensive unit.

"This turnout of guys the first week of official practice is the most I've seen in all my years with the team. We have great owners and great coaches and I believe this is the reason for such a big turnout. The guys see it and want to be a part of the team in anyway they can" said Marvin Harris.

Harris will be surrounded by a lot new and young faces this season. Rookie outside linebacker Lenny Davis is showing the coaches he belongs on the field. Davis is a graduate from Sarasota's Riverview High School in 2010. Davis will be using the program to get into college and continue with his football career. After Davis finished his football stint at Riverview High School, college scouts were not aware of his many talents on the field and therefore he did not receive a football scholarship. " I take football very serious and I will do whatever it takes to further my football career" said Davis. The good thing for Lenny Davis, is that he still has college eligibility on his side.

The Sarasota Millionaires kicked off its first official practice for the 2012/2013 campaign season Tuesday night with over 40 guys hoping to make an impact on the coaches, community and staff. "We had a lot of new young fresh faces that participated at our first practice who were also a part of the combine and the teams kick off meeting for this 2012/2013 season. They are into being a part of our program and are really blown away by the things the organization can and has done for a lot these guys (past and present)" said Head Coach Ex NFL Player Ernest Givins.
Practices are being held every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 pm sharp at The Robert Taylor Complex. Registration is $40. (fee will include a work out shirt) players need to wear black shorts, and cleats.

(SARASOTA) -- The Sarasota Millionaires, in a surprising turn of events, have decided to join the United Football Federation (UFF) for the 2013 season, according to league officials.

"The Sarasota Millionaires bring one of the finest organizations in the state of Florida to the United Football Federation," UFF Board member and Duval Panthers coach Joe Davis said.

Millionaires, who finished 8-4 in the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) last season, have been established since 2006 and started off in the Southern States Football League (SSFL) and reached back-to-back Rice Bowls in 2008 and 2009, losing both times to rival Orlando Rage.

Sarasota in 2010 season entered the FFA and had a 5-5 record in its first season in the Alliance and in 2011 then went 1-9 in a disappointing campaign. In 2012, the Millionaires broke through with their best season in the FFA with an 7-3 regular season record and a 40-2 victory in the first round of the FFA playoffs over the Charlotte County Reign.

The Millionaires are coached by former Houston/Tennessee Oilers and NFL legend Ernest Givins, who has coached the St. Petersburg Sharks to 2 SSFL championships and one SSFL title with the Hernando Eagles.

The team is owned by Calvin and Bethsaida Williams and the Millionaires play their home games at Booker High School. Sarasota will be playing out of the UFF West Division with the Bay Area Pirates, Tampa Bay Stallions, Pasco County Hitmen and the Florida Veterans.

The turnout for the combine/Tryout was one of the best the team has seen with a lot of new faces from the Tampa to Sarasota area and everything in between. The teams staff are very excited about all the new and young talent that have been participating in the past weekend combine. The team will now prepare for practices starting October 16th at The Robert L. Taylor Complex 7pm Sharp!
